Health Explorer

Health Explorer combines the latest available Gateway and Node health information. Open Observability and select Health Explorer.

The page is read-only and presents current snapshots. It refreshes periodically while open and also provides a manual refresh action. It does not provide charts, stored trends, or health history.

Find a resource

Use the search field to find a Gateway or Node by name or ID. You can also filter by Gateway or by PENDING_ENROLLMENT, ENROLLED, ACTIVE, DEGRADED, OFFLINE, ORPHAN, or DECOMMISSIONED state, then select Clear to remove the filters.

The Gateway and Node sections can be collapsed. Node rows can be sorted by network quality, CPU, memory, disk, or temperature; Reset sort returns to the default view.

Gateway Health Summary

For each Gateway, review:

  • Gateway ID, name, lifecycle state, and current health indicator.
  • Last Heartbeat, which shows the time of its latest operational report.
  • Current CPU load, memory use, disk use, and established TCP connections when reported.
  • The number of Pools and Nodes associated with the Gateway.
  • Counts of DEGRADED, OFFLINE, and pending Nodes.

A stale heartbeat means the latest report is later than expected but the Gateway has not yet reached OFFLINE state. An OFFLINE Gateway is no longer reporting within the allowed period, and applications cannot rely on proxy access through it. See Understanding Gateways for lifecycle-state meanings.

Node Health Summary

For each Node, review:

  • Node ID, name, and current status.
  • Network, which shows the reported network-quality label and score when available.
  • Dataplane, shown as OK, FAIL, or unavailable.
  • Current CPU, memory, disk, and temperature readings when reported.
  • Assigned Gateway ID.
  • Last HB, which shows the relative age of the last heartbeat; its full timestamp is available from the field.

Network quality summarizes recent reported network conditions. It helps compare otherwise eligible Nodes but does not by itself determine Pool selection. Use Candidate Diagnostics to review current eligibility and ranking for a specific Pool.

A delayed heartbeat can make health information stale. DEGRADED means the Node is reporting a health problem; OFFLINE means current reports have stopped. See Understanding Nodes for lifecycle-state meanings.

Current Health Issues

The Current Health Issues section groups Gateways and Nodes whose current state, heartbeat, health check, or dataplane result requires attention. It shows the resource's state, last report time, and a reason.

Use the summary to prioritize investigation, then review the appropriate Gateway or Node details. Health Explorer does not provide configuration controls or direct remediation actions.

Software version, update history, security-patch state, and reboot state are not shown in Health Explorer. See Software Updates for those responsibilities and workflows.

If a resource appears unhealthy, refresh the view, verify its power and network connectivity where applicable, and review affected Pools. Continue with Gateway Problems or Node Problems for the affected resource.
